Welcome to the world, baby Henry! This was actually my second time getting to photograph little Henry as I was also (by complete chance!) his Bella Baby photographer in the hospital. He was a hungry, hungry boy during our session but at the very end he fell into a deep sleep, and he was making the cutest little expressions. Newborn sessions are often long for this exact reason and the time is always, always worth it in the end. I hope to see this sweet boy again and see how he has grown!

Here in Houston the weather is FINALLY starting to cool down and act like fall. The temperatures have dropped and the leaves are starting to change (as much as they do in Texas). November is going to be my busiest month this year and I am completely booked this month. Most of my sessions this month are family sessions as everyone is getting updated photos taken for holiday cards and gifts. I love seeing old clients, meeting new ones and getting to photograph their beautiful families. But if you are like a lot of people I know (including myself!!) these family photos can be SO stressful.

When you have a chance to photograph a beautiful family like this there really isn't much  to say. The newest member of their family was welcomed to the world just a week before our photo session. Big sister was giving him lots of love the whole session. I had such a great time with this family and am in love with their photos. Everyone was calm and relaxed and I truly believe that helps make beautiful photos. Congratulations Lane Family!

Back in April I hosted a giveaway to celebrate Tracy Lynn Photography's First Birthday. The beautiful Villanueva family won the contest and we finally had a chance to schedule their session at the end of September. Well it was worth the wait! They were so excited to be there and the kids were so well behaved. The clouds didn't want to behave that day but we still managed to get some gorgeous shots!

Houston Baby Photographer | Mini Session - Preston's First Steps

Do you have photos of your child's first steps? Sadly, I do not. The only reason I am not *too* sad about it is because I was right there with her, cheering her on, experiencing the moment. I recently had a mini shoot to capture little Preston's first steps. He had just started walking when his mom got the great idea to have it all captured on film. It was such a fun mini session - how could it not be with this cutie?! Watch out girls...I think this one is going to be a heart breaker :)

Houston Baby Photographer | Cake Smash Session - JD's First Birthday

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is getting to watch adorable little babies grow up. Besides the fact that it repeatedly makes me feel old, I just love watching them grow and develop their own personality. I met JD last year when I did a family session for him and his parents, when he was only a couple months old. The next thing I knew it was time for his first birthday - and boy does he know how to celebrate! His mom is a professional baker and you can tell he is a bakers son. This boy LOVES cake. I absolutely adore these first birthday sessions - the babies *ahem - TODDLERS* look so sweet and cute dressed up for their portraits and then they dive right into the cake and get messy! Happy 1st Birthday JD!
