Houston Baby, Children and Family Photographer | Event Photography

Can you believe it's November already? Where has this year gone?! It has been a super busy year for me (moving back to the USA, buying a house, having a baby...) and it has flown by in record speed. I decided to have a Halloween party this year and invited over a bunch of friends (and their babies) to help Kaitlin and I celebrate. It was a ton of fun - all the little ones looked so cute in their costumes and us adults had a chance to socialize and eat some delicious food. It was also a crazy busy day, as usual when you are hosting a party. I learned very quickly that hosting a party with a baby is even crazier. Between getting the food ready, chatting with guests, making sure they were happy and keeping an eye on my own baby (I owe a big thank you to my friends who helped keep an eye on my little pumpkin) I had almost zero time to take photos! (Secretly, all I wanted to do was run around and take photos of the little babies all dressed up and create some nice memories for everyone.) We managed  to get a couple group shots taken by the lone dad who braved to come to the party and luckily I got a couple shots of Kaitlin and I. But that was it! And that got me thinking...

Life with kids, as I am learning, is hectic. Throwing a party with kids is even more hectic. Even if you do get a chance to take some photos during your party chances are you don't get a chance to be in many of them.
